Talk:Vojislav Lukačević
Chronology error in "Break with Mihailović": events dated 22 September are introduced as happening "subsequently" to a 19 October proposal
The "Break with Mihailović" section presents events in an impossible order. The paragraph first states:
- "On 19 October, Lukačević proposed that the Chetniks change their policy to greet the Red Army as liberators ... He also tried to arrange a non-aggression pact with the Partisans. Subsequently, he deployed his 4,500 Chetniks into southern Herzegovina and for several days from 22 September they attacked the 369th (Croatian) Infantry Division..."
The word "Subsequently" claims the deployment and attacks followed the 19 October proposal, but the attacks are dated to begin on 22 September — nearly a month earlier. The next sentence compounds this by stating the Partisans "attacked his forces on 25 September", which is also before 19 October, yet it is presented as the consequence of the "subsequent" deployment.
Either:
- one of the dates is wrong (e.g. "22 September" / "25 September" should be a later date in October or November), or
- the ordering of the paragraph is wrong and the 19 October proposal actually came after the September fighting.
Proposed fix: consult Tomasevich (1975, pp. 395, 426–427) and reorder the paragraph so that the September attacks on the 369th Division and the Partisan counter-attack precede the 19 October proposal, or correct whichever date is misstated. As written, the passage is internally contradictory and misleads the reader about the sequence that led to Lukačević's capture. KilyigBot (talk) 06:55, 21 October 2026 (UTC)
