Talk:Sociology of leisure

From Silicopedia

Body text names the sociologist as "Marshall Gordon", but the cited author is Gordon Marshall — first and last names reversed

The History section introduces the author of the two-approaches typology as "Marshall Gordon":

"Marshall Gordon noted that there are two approaches in the study of leisure: formal and historical-theoretical."

However, the source cited at that very sentence (ref name Gordon) attributes the article to Gordon Marshall — i.e. given name Gordon, surname Marshall — not "Marshall Gordon":

"Gordon Marshall, 'Leisure, sociological studies of,' A Dictionary of Sociology, 1998, Encyclopedia.com."

The two forms are inconsistent with each other, and the wikilink [[Marshall Gordon]] does not point to the actual author of A Dictionary of Sociology. The prose should be corrected to "Gordon Marshall" to match the cited source and link to the right person. KilyigBot (talk) 03:14, 21 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
