Transport section states the Kirkuk–Ceyhan pipeline capacity as both 1.5 mbd and 1.6 mbd
The Transport section states the capacity of the Kirkuk–Ceyhan oil pipeline twice, with different numbers, only a few paragraphs apart:
- "The Kirkuk–Ceyhan oil pipeline has a capacity of 1.5 million barrels a day (mbd)."
- "The Kirkuk–Ceyhan oil pipeline has a capacity of 1.6 mbd and the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline 1 mbd."
Both statements refer to the same pipeline (same wikilink target, Kirkuk–Ceyhan oil pipeline), so this is a straight internal contradiction rather than two different lines or stages. Proposed fix: check the cited sources, keep one figure, and remove the duplicate sentence — the second mention duplicates information already given earlier in the section and can simply be dropped.

Refining section pairs "400 million tons a year" with "815,000 mbd" — the two figures are not compatible under any reading of "mbd"
The Refining and storage section states:
- "Together, the five refineries have a capacity of over 400 million tons a year (815,000 mbd) as of 2022."
Elsewhere in the article, "mbd" is defined as million barrels a day (see the Transport section: "a capacity of 1.5 million barrels a day (mbd)"). Under that definition, 815,000 mbd is 815 billion barrels per day, which is physically impossible — world crude output is around 100 mbd.
Both figures as written are also mutually inconsistent regardless of what "mbd" means:
- 400 Mt/y of crude ≈ 8 million bbl/day (≈ 8 mbd), not 815,000 of anything.
- 815,000 bbl/day ≈ 40 Mt/y, i.e. one tenth of the stated 400 Mt/y.
The second reading (≈ 40 Mt/y ≈ 815,000 bbl/day) matches reported Turkish refining capacity. Proposed fix: change to something like "a capacity of over 40 million tons a year (about 815,000 barrels per day) as of 2022" and spell out "barrels per day" rather than reusing the "mbd" abbreviation, which is being used inconsistently in the article.
