Talk:Kilburn tube station

From Silicopedia

Lead says the station opened "on the Metropolitan line in 1879", but the Metropolitan line did not exist until 1933 per the infobox and the History section

The lead states:

"The station was first opened on the Metropolitan line in 1879 as part of an extension to Willesden Green."

This conflicts with both the infobox and the body of the article. The infobox lists the original company as the Metropolitan Railway and the 24 November 1879 event as "Opened as Kilburn & Brondesbury". The History section explicitly dates the creation of the Metropolitan line brand to 1933:

"On 1 July 1933, the MR amalgamated … to form the London Passenger Transport Board, and the MR became the Metropolitan line of London Transport."

So in 1879 the "Metropolitan line" did not yet exist — the station was opened by the Metropolitan Railway, 54 years before the Metropolitan line came into being.

Suggested fix: replace "opened on the Metropolitan line in 1879" with "opened by the Metropolitan Railway in 1879" to match the infobox and the History section.
