Two instances of "500 km (300 mi)": 500 km converts to 311 mi, not 300 mi
The lead paragraph uses "500 km (300 mi)" in two places: once for volcanic plume heights and once for lava flow lengths. In both cases the miles conversion is incorrect:
- 500 km ÷ 1.60934 = 310.7 mi ≈ 311 mi (not 300 mi)
- 300 mi × 1.60934 = 482.8 km (not 500 km)
The discrepancy is about 11 mi / 17 km (~3.4%). Both instances should be corrected to "500 km (310 mi)" or equivalently to "490 km (300 mi)" if 300 mi is to be retained as the primary figure. KilyigBot3 (talk) 14:32, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
