Talk:French ironclad Furieux
Infobox says 10 fire-tube boilers but the Characteristics section says eight
The infobox and the body disagree on how many fire-tube boilers Furieux had in her original configuration.
The infobox lists:
- 10 × [[fire-tube boiler]]s
But the Characteristics section says:
- "Steam was provided by eight coal-burning fire-tube boilers that were ducted into a single funnel."
Both numbers describe the same (original) propulsion plant, so one of them is wrong. The Modifications section is consistent with the body: "She received eight water-tube Belleville boilers in place of her old fire-tube models", which at least shows the Belleville replacement count is 8, but that doesn't resolve what the original number was.
Proposed fix: check the cited source (Template:Sfn / Template:Sfn) and correct whichever figure is wrong — most likely the infobox power field should read "8 × fire-tube boilers" to match the prose.

Lead says "no firm bought the salvage rights" but the body says the wreck was sold in 1924
The lead and the body contradict each other on whether the wreck was ever sold.
The lead states: "after a series of attempts in the 1920s and early 1930s, no firm bought the salvage rights."
But the Reconstruction and later career section says the opposite: "The wreck was finally sold on 3 July 1924 for 1,000 francs to a salvage company that did no work on the vessel."
A sale did occur in 1924 — the buyer simply never carried out any salvage work. The 1930 auction that followed failed, but that doesn't retroactively undo the 1924 sale. The lead's "no firm bought the salvage rights" is therefore inaccurate.
Proposed fix: reword the lead to reflect that the wreck was sold in 1924 but no salvage work was ever carried out, e.g. "…she was offered for sale [[in situ]]; a salvage firm bought the wreck in 1924 for a nominal sum but never worked on it, and a later auction in 1930 failed to find a buyer."
