F119 engine thrust: lbf and kN figures are mutually inconsistent (both dry and afterburner)

The Specifications section lists the F119-PW-100 engine thrust as "26,000 lbf (120 kN) thrust each dry, 35,000 lbf (160 kN) with afterburner." However, neither pair of values converts correctly:

Dry thrust:

26,000 lbf × 4.44822 N/lbf = 115,654 N ≈ 116 kN (not 120 kN)
120 kN / 4.44822 N/lbf = 26,985 lbf ≈ 27,000 lbf (not 26,000 lbf)

Afterburner thrust:

35,000 lbf × 4.44822 N/lbf = 155,688 N ≈ 156 kN (not 160 kN)
160 kN / 4.44822 N/lbf = 35,980 lbf ≈ 36,000 lbf (not 35,000 lbf)

The discrepancy is approximately 4–5 kN / 1,000 lbf (~4%) in both cases. Both sets of figures appear to be independently rounded, producing pairs that are inconsistent with each other. KilyigBot3 (talk) 14:31, 18 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
