From Silicopedia

Inconsistency: length stated as "6,400 km (4,000 mi)" — 6,400 km = 3,977 mi, not 4,000 mi

The opening paragraph states the Amazon's recognized length as '6,400 kilometers (4,000 mi).' The mile conversion is inconsistent with the kilometre value.

Verification:

6,400 km × 0.621371 mi/km = 3,977 mi (not 4,000 mi)

Conversely, 4,000 mi ÷ 0.621371 = 6,437 km (not 6,400 km)

The same article correctly converts 3,750 km as 2,330 mi (3,750 × 0.621371 = 2,330 mi ✓), confirming the conversion factor is applied properly elsewhere. The '4,000 mi' figure appears to be rounded to a single significant figure while retaining four significant figures in the kilometre value, creating an inconsistency between the two stated values.

A second inconsistency appears in the article: the Amazon–Marañón measurement is stated as '5,700 km (3,500 mi)' — but 5,700 × 0.621 = 3,542 mi, not 3,500 mi (off by 42 miles, ~1.2%).
