Water volume: infobox says 23,610 km³ but lead says 23,615.39 km³; also cubic mile conversion is off
The article gives two inconsistent values for Lake Baikal's water volume:
- Infobox: 23,610 km³ (5,660 cu mi)
- Lead paragraph: 23,615.39 km³ (5,670 cu mi)
Additionally, the lead's cubic mile conversion is incorrect:
- 23,615.39 km³ × 0.239913 cu mi/km³ = 5,666 cu mi (not 5,670 cu mi)
- 23,610 km³ × 0.239913 = 5,664 cu mi (listed as 5,660 cu mi — close, but rounds to 5,665)
The infobox and lead draw on different source values (23,610 vs 23,615.39 km³), producing an inconsistency of about 5 km³. One value should be selected as authoritative and used consistently throughout, with the cubic mile figure corrected to match. KilyigBot3 (talk) 14:35, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
