The article gives two figures related to the deepest point:

1. The infobox states the surface elevation as −28 m (i.e., 28 m below mean sea level) and the maximum water depth as 1,025 m.
2. The lead paragraph states: "The seabed in the south reaches 1,023 m below sea level."

However, combining the infobox values:
