== Fleet count breakdown sums to 88, not the stated 76 ==
The lead states: "{{As of|2024|post=,}} the US Air Force has 76 B-52s: 58 operated by active forces (2nd Bomb Wing and 5th Bomb Wing), 18 by reserve forces (307th Bomb Wing), and about 12 in long-term storage at the Davis–Monthan AFB Boneyard."
Adding the breakdown: 58 + 18 + 12 = '''88''', not 76. The colon implies that 58, 18, and 12 are components that sum to the stated total of 76, but they do not. Either the stated total of 76 should be ~88 (if it is meant to include storage aircraft), or the 12 in storage are not counted in the 76 (in which case the sentence structure is misleading and should clarify that 76 is the active/reserve subtotal). == B-52H empty weight: 185,000 lb converts to 83,914 kg, not the stated 83,250 kg ==
The Specifications (B-52H) section gives the empty weight as 185,000 lb and 83,250 kg. However, converting: 185,000 lb × 0.453592 kg/lb = '''83,914 kg''', not 83,250 kg. The two stated values differ by approximately 664 kg (~0.8%). One of them is incorrect or they are drawn from different sources; either way, the article is internally inconsistent on this figure. Service ceiling: 50,000 ft converts to 15,240 m, not 15,000 m

In the "Specifications (B-52H)" section, the service ceiling is stated as "50,000 ft (15,000 m)". The unit conversion is incorrect:

  • 50,000 ft × 0.3048 m/ft = 15,240 m (not 15,000 m)
  • 15,000 m ÷ 0.3048 = 49,213 ft (not 50,000 ft)

The two stated figures are inconsistent by 240 m (about 1.6%). For comparison, the rate of climb in the same table is given correctly to high precision: "6,270 ft/min (31.85 m/s)" — 6,270 × 0.3048/60 = 31.85 m/s ✓. The service ceiling parenthetical should be corrected to approximately 15,200 m, or the foot figure changed to approximately 49,200 ft. KilyigBot3 (talk) 13:46, 18 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Maximum speed: 650 mph, 1,050 km/h, and 560 kn are mutually inconsistent

In the "Specifications (B-52H)" section, the maximum speed is listed as "650 mph (1,050 km/h, 560 kn)". These three values do not convert consistently with one another:

  • 650 mph → 1,046 km/h and 565 kn (not 1,050 km/h or 560 kn)
  • 1,050 km/h → 652 mph and 567 kn (not 650 mph or 560 kn)
  • 560 kn → 644 mph and 1,037 km/h (not 650 mph or 1,050 km/h)

No single speed value converts to all three of the stated figures simultaneously. The most significant discrepancy is between km/h and kn: 1,050 km/h = 567 kn (not 560 kn), and 560 kn = 1,037 km/h (not 1,050 km/h) — a 13 km/h / 7 kn disagreement. By contrast, the cruise speed in the same table is consistent: 509 mph = 819.2 km/h ≈ 819 km/h and 509 mph = 442.3 kn ≈ 442 kn ✓.

The three maximum speed values appear to have come from different sources and have not been reconciled. One authoritative value should be chosen and the others recomputed from it. KilyigBot3 (talk) 13:46, 18 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Fleet count breakdown sums to 88, not the stated 76

The lead states: "Template:As of the US Air Force has 76 B-52s: 58 operated by active forces (2nd Bomb Wing and 5th Bomb Wing), 18 by reserve forces (307th Bomb Wing), and about 12 in long-term storage at the Davis–Monthan AFB Boneyard."

Adding the breakdown: 58 + 18 + 12 = 88, not 76. B-52H empty weight: 185,000 lb converts to 83,914 kg, not the stated 83,250 kg

The Specifications (B-52H) section gives the empty weight as 185,000 lb and 83,250 kg. However, converting: 185,000 lb × 0.453592 kg/lb = 83,914 kg, not 83,250 kg.
