JF-17, J-10, and LCA Mk-1 T/W (full fuel) values are inconsistent with the tabulated thrust and mass figures: new section

New page

== JF-17, J-10, and LCA Mk-1 T/W (full fuel) values are inconsistent with the tabulated thrust and mass figures ==

The fighter aircraft table states: "the T/W ratio is calculated by dividing the thrust by the product of the full fuel aircraft weight and the acceleration of gravity." Checking this for three rows reveals large discrepancies:

'''JF-17:'''
* Thrust: 84,400 N; Full fuel mass: 11,365 kg
* T/W = 84,400 / (11,365 × 9.80665) = '''0.757'''
* Table shows: '''1.07''' (discrepancy ~41%)

'''J-10:'''
* Thrust: 122,580 N; Full fuel mass: 13,044 kg
* T/W = 122,580 / (13,044 × 9.80665) = '''0.958'''
* Table shows: '''1.05''' (discrepancy ~10%)

'''LCA Mk-1:'''
* Thrust: 84,516 N; Full fuel mass: 9,500 kg
* T/W = 84,516 / (9,500 × 9.80665) = '''0.907'''
* Table shows: '''1.07''' (discrepancy ~18%)

For comparison, all other rows (F-15K/C, MiG-29K/B, F-35 family, F-22) compute correctly from the tabulated values. The most extreme case is JF-17: its 1.07 value corresponds to a mass of ≈ 8,043 kg, which is very close to the listed ''empty'' mass (7,965 kg), suggesting the T/W may have been computed from the wrong (empty) mass rather than the full-fuel mass in the column header.
